Professional Bio
Karen pioneered the first research study ever to be done on Police Officers with PTSD that has made use of SPECT brain imaging technology (performed by Dr. Daniel Amen). This study tracked the successful PTSD recoveries of 6 officers involved in shootings using a specialized treatment protocol she designed with her first generation of police clients (using Dr. Francine Shapiro’s EMDR Therapy as its foundation). This was published in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience (Fall: 2005).
