Narrative Summary

Karen Lansing is a California State licensed Psychotherapist and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. She specializes in the training, treatment, and tactical weapons skills rehabilitation of Law Enforcement and Military Assets who have developed duty-induced PTSD. She has worked with local and State Law Enforcement agencies (in the US as well as the EU), the FBI, and the US Department of Defense.

Within her area of specialization working with lethal contact trauma, prevention, and resolution, Karen has co-authored a research study (Lansing, et al.; published in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience; 17:526-523, 11/05).

This research was the first of its kind to use brain imaging to track the neurological impact of both PTSD and that condition’s successful treatment of Police Officers who'd been involved in shooting incidents. Karen is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She lectures, trains, and consults with Clinical Professionals and Law Enforcement agencies both nationally and internationally.
